Being Dolphin Friendly

When tuna fishers catch tuna, dolphins get tangled in the net, often getting injured or killed. You can help keep dolphins safe by buying dolphin-safe tuna. It has a little sign on it, look at the can your family buys to see if you are eating dolphin-safe tuna. Dolphin Safe means that the fisherman are using methoods that don't hurt dolphins.

Eeko World

If you want to check out a cool eco-friendly website, try Eeko World. Eeko World is a cool green website an "eeko creature" and play Eeko House. If you can get through Eeko House you can do Eeko School (this school is fun!). There are also little videos and other cool stuff.
Speaking of eco-sites I just yesterday found out about Planet Patrol. It's a website made by three kids, its pretty cool.

Re-Using Paper

There are lots of ways to re-use paper, but here's two notebooky crafts.
Recycled Notebook:
Cut up old scraps of paper that's already been used on one side. (cut them all the same sixe in little sqares about 5 and a half by four inches.) Use two paper clips to hold them all together. Then whenever you need to use a piece of paper to scribble something down, take a sheet from this handy "green" pad!
Recycled Journal:
This is a lot alike the Recycled Notebook (above). Cut pieces of paper into pieces like above. Instead of paper-clipping them, staple them together on one side. On the cover write something funny (an eco-joke!) like "I'm Thinking of something green..." or something like "Green is the New Black" or "SOAP-Save Our Awesome Planet". Be creative.

I hope you enjoyed these paper-y projects!

How to Make An Eco-Friendly Bag

So now you know how amazing and cool our planet is-but what happens when its full of garbage? Make a re-usable bag that saves a bag each time you use it.
You Need: (to make a "this bag saved a bag" bag)
A cloth bag (prefrebly a light color so you can sketch a design in pencil)
Fabric paints, blue, green and pink. (you can subsitute another color for the pink)
How to make it:
With a pencil sketch an earth lightly. Lightly write the words "this bag save a bag" on it.
Go over the words with pink and fill the earth in with blue and green.
Let it dry and go shopping!

Eco Gal

Welcome to Eco Gal! I'm Bri.
I like caring for the earth. I hope you do too! If you want to but don't know how to start, you're in the right place. I always think this: If we ruin this planet, we can't move into another one.
So with that said, read the other posts to learn more about this fragile and beautiful earth we live on.
